By referencing postal systems and transitory objects, the work “Unpacking” maps a language of displacement, where emotions often fail to arrive despite the infrastructure of delivery. Stamps offer the illusion of passage, but communication remains misaligned, unanchored from its intended destination. This work is created in collaboration with performer Pang Sze Wing, Kristy, who responds to the installation through periodic bodily interventions and the opening of delivered letters during the exhibition. Her movements activate the piece, turning it into a living exhibit in constant transformation.
Pang Sze Wing, Kristy is currently studying acting for drama at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and graduated from the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in 2021. She engages in various media forms such as film, theatre, and online platforms.
